A recent collaboration between Sport Birmingham and Ninja Warrior Adventure Park in Walsall provided over 160 young people with an unforgettable experience.

The Make A Difference (MAD) Programme, the youth arm of Sport Birmingham, helped these young individuals from Handsworth enjoy an exciting day at the Ninja Warrior Walsall adventure park.

Over two action-packed days, these youth—many of whom face significant barriers to accessing such opportunities—were given the chance to explore and enjoy a unique environment inspired by the popular ITV show.

Luke Miller, area manager at Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Parks, said: "We are thrilled to work alongside Sport Birmingham and the MAD project.

“Our shared goal of keeping young people active and engaged in the community is what drives us forward. This collaboration allows us to make a meaningful impact and put smiles on the faces of those who need it most."

Callam Dunne (pictured), youth operations manager at Sport Birmingham, said: "This summer has been amazing for the MAD project.

“Having young people engage in the programme and take part in a variety of physical activity and arts sessions has helped us unlock their talents and skills.

“Seeing so many happy faces at Ninja Warrior has been a real highlight of the programme. None of our young people had been before, so it has been a great new experience for them.

“The Ninja Warrior team have also been incredibly welcoming and supportive to the young people and the team, which has been the cherry on top. I would recommend all schools and youth programmes engage with the offer, as it is a great experience for all."

Daniel Jay Smith, ambassador for Sport Birmingham, said: "Absolutely privileged to be here to see the kids enjoying themselves.

“Trying where they may not have this facility. Jay and the whole MAD team are here to provide just that sense of wellbeing. I’ve got a sense of wellbeing myself to see the kids enjoying it."

The success of this partnership underscores the importance of strategic collaborations in making a lasting impact. For many of the young participants, this was a rare opportunity to step outside their everyday environment and experience something truly special.
