Webinar to provide insight into Italian market
Businesses are invited to learn about breaking into the Italian market via an upcoming event hosted by the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) on 19 May.
The GBCC will host the online webinar in collaboration with the British Chamber of Commerce for Italy (BCCI) at the latest in a series of 'Trading with EU Partners ' events sponsored by the West Midlands Combined Authority.
Strategically positioned in the South-Eastern part of the European Union, Italy provides a great hub for UK companies, providing easy access to its neighbouring countries which complements the UK 's natural connection to the countries in Central and Northern Europe.
Ranking eighth out of 205 in terms of nominal GDP, Italy is a strong market for business, particularly for those in the automotive, pharmaceutical, food, fashion and tourism sectors.
The upcoming event will provide insight on the current trade relationship between the UK and Italy following the impact of Brexit and Covid-19 and will explore the potential challenges that UK businesses might face when expanding into the Italian market.
Attendees will also hear from a high profile case study who will discuss their experiences and benefits of trading with Italy.
Speakers at the event include Aaron Pugliesi (pictured), BCCI secretary general and chief executive, as well as Steven Sprague, chairman of the BCII Brexit committee, BCII councillor and partner at CastaldiPartners.
Aaron has worked at the BCCI since 2015 and has a background in international relations and economics, as well as ethical finance, real estate management and consulting.
Steven also brings with him a specialist background in international development and trade, having lived and worked in a number of countries and jurisdictions within the European Union and beyond.
Stefanie Bowes, international business manager at the GBCC, said: “We are delighted to be acquainted with a key European partner in the British Chamber of Commerce Italy.
“This event has been created to look at insights into the current trading situation between the UK and Italy.
“It is is an important opportunity for businesses to further develop their understanding of the new ways of working together post Brexit. ”
Taking place on 19 May at 10am, the event will be free to both members and non-members. For more information or to book your place, click here
