University to host young professionals on boards event
Future Faces have announced they will be holding their next professional development event, Shaping Tomorrow: Become a Board Member, at University College Birmingham.
Taking place on Thursday, 21 November from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, the event will explore the vital role young professionals can play in board governance and leadership, offering insights on how the next generation can drive innovation, diversity, and forward-thinking solutions in today’s top organisations.
The free event will be hosted by University College Birmingham at McIntyre House, and is for Future Faces members only.
Professor Elaine Limond, vice dean at University College Birmingham Business School, said: “The University College Birmingham Business School are thrilled to be hosting this event, dedicated to empowering young professionals and future board leaders. We recognise the great potential that the next generation brings to governance and leadership.
“This event will provide a unique platform for emerging leaders to gain insights, build connections, and explore how they can drive meaningful change within top organisations. We look forward to welcoming ambitious professionals, experienced board members, and forward-thinking organisations as we work together to shape a more innovative and diverse future for our region.”
The event will feature a panel of speakers, including Gabriel Imevbore and Dr Tru Powell.
Gabriel is the youngest trustee in 170 years for YMCA Heart of England and sales director for tech company Z Digital, suppliers for FTSE 100 companies.
Gabriel said: “I’m proud to see the young professionals on boards event come to life. It’s been a passion of mine. Since becoming the youngest trustee myself for YMCA Heart of England, I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge and experience that has aided me in my level of organisational strategic thinking.
“Having Future Faces support my initial idea for this event, shows the commitment FF have to empowering the young professionals in their network, alongside giving them tangible opportunities that will take them further within their careers. It has always been a passion of mine to see more young professionals on boards, in all sectors. Having FF not only share this passion, but aid in bringing it to life, to me, is a key moment in the future of the regions economic success.”
