University set to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week with employer discovery event

Birmingham City University (BCU) has reaffirmed its commitment to National Apprenticeship Week 2025 by introducing new courses and hosting an employer discovery event.

The event, happening tomorrow from 9 to 11.30 am, will provide a platform for businesses, educators, and industry leaders to explore the evolving apprenticeship landscape. Click here to register for free.

During the event, BCU will also launch a dedicated employer apprenticeship panel to ensure apprenticeship programmes remain responsive to industry needs.

Businesses attending the event will have the opportunity to shape the future of BCU’s apprenticeship provision and workforce development strategies.

Attendees at the event will have the opportunity to meet the university’s apprenticeship experts, explore funding and supporting options, engage in sector specific discussions and network with industry peers.

BCU’s apprenticeship portfolio is designed in collaboration with industry partners to ensure graduates are workplace-ready.

Degree level apprenticeship programmes available at BCU include;

  • Computing and Built Environment - Cyber security, Architecture, Civil Engineering and Construction Management
  • Allied Healthcare and Nursing - Operating Department Practitioner (ODP), Paramedic Science, Nursing and Speech and Language Therapy.

These programmes offer a flexible approach to talent development, allowing businesses to upskill their workforce while ensuring apprentices gain real-world experience in high-demand industries.

The National Apprenticeship Week is held between 10 to 16 February on the theme Skills for Life, underscoring the essential role of apprenticeships in equipping individuals with the expertise needed for long-term career success while helping businesses cultivate a skilled, adaptable workforce.
