University hosts panel discussion to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week
Keele University will be hosting an expert panel to coincide with National Apprenticeship Week.
The event is set to explore best practices for skills development, address proposed changes to skills policy, and support employers in navigating these changes.
It will take place on Tuesday, 11 February from 8.30 to 11 am.
The discussion will focus on the theme Skills for Life, spotlighting how apprenticeships empower individuals, drive business growth and strengthen communities and the economy across England.
Attendees will be able to gain practical advice on apprenticeship programs, learn from industry leaders about skills policy reform and funding and network with peers and discover successful strategies.
Panellists include;
- Rachel Laver - chief executive officer, Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce
- Chris Rawlinson - head of learning and development, DJH
- Jane Tunnicliff - group head of employer engagement and training, Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group
- Craig Wallace - associate director learning and education healthcare careers and skills academy, University Hospitals of North Midlands
- Lou Taylor-Murison - head of apprenticeships and partnership-based learning, Keele University

Keele university offers a variety of apprenticeships at different levels and across different sectors and specialisms.
They also provide a personalised approach to apprenticeships and have an evolving programme portfolio, based on employer needs through consultation.
The event will also include a complementary breakfast with networking opportunities and free parking.
