Touchwood events schedule aims to tackle New Year blues
Touchwood Solihull has launched a busy events schedule to keep visitors entertained during the new year.
People can now tune into Touchwood Radio – a brand-new radio station broadcasting live across the shopping centre and online, delivering a mix of music and announcements tailored to shoppers.
Listeners can enjoy the benefits of staying connected with Touchwood, hearing the latest updates, promotions and entertainment, from wherever they are.
To combat Blue Monday, Touchwood will be staging a badminton event on Sunday 19 and Monday 20 January in The Atrium.
The event aims to raise awareness of the benefits that racket sports like badminton can bring, including supporting mental health, encouraging social interaction and the physical benefits of being active.
Visitors to Touchwood can get involved and play some badminton in support of the ‘Solihull Gets Active’ campaign, while raising funds for Sports Relief or a local charity.
On Saturday 25 January, the Big Red will be back at Touchwood for another year – roaming the malls at intervals throughout the day.
To welcome in the Lunar New Year, on Saturday 1 February Touchwood will host a day of traditional celebrations for everyone to enjoy.
The event will include a traditional Lion Dance around the centre at intervals throughout the day (starting from 12pm), Panda Dance, face painting, calligraphy and craft workshops including sweet dumpling making.
There will also be live performances with dancing by Alderbrook School pupils and singing from Cranmore School Choir, Church Choir and the Inclusive Choir.
Lucy Burnett, marketing manager at Touchwood, said: “As we enter 2025, we have a varied schedule of events – from playing badminton to celebrating Lunar New Year – and we look forward to welcoming visitors both new and old to Touchwood to join in the fun.”
Touchwood visitors can also explore the wide variety of shops, restaurants and entertainment, taking advantage of the January sales.
