Thursfields praised in latest edition of Legal 500
Leading West Midlands law firm Thursfields Solicitors has been commended again in the latest edition of the UK 's “industry bible ”, the Legal 500.
The company, with more than 130 staff at five offices in in Worcester, Kidderminster, Halesowen, Solihull and Birmingham, has maintained its positions in all tiers of the guide.
In the Family section, Thursfields was praised for its “very high standard of client care ” and for having “bags of integrity ”.
Philip Rea was newly named as a “leading individual ” in the Family section and was described as “a gifted lawyer who sees each case from every possible angle ”, while practice head Shane Miller was noted for her “wealth of experience in financial matters ”.
Hannah Nicholls was named as a Rising Star, with one testimonial noting: “Hannah Nicholls is destined for great things. She is already a star in the field of family law. Eilidh Rose is a star in the making. She is a lawyer who is mature beyond her years. ”
In the corporate and commercial section, Thursfields was noted for attracting “considerable praise from a number of SMEs and owner-managed businesses, who turn to the team for its capabilities in multi-million pound transactions ”.
Gareth Burge retained his 'Leading Individual ' status and Tim Edwards is noted as 'Next Generation Partner '.
One testimonial said: “Thursfields are the ideal size to provide legal services into the SME market by having a full range of services, but not being too large so that they can still provide the personal touch to the relationships with their clients. ”
On Commercial Litigation, Thursfields was described as “savvy and sensible ”, led by a “pragmatic ” and “very smart ” Stephen Rome. In Employment, Thursfields was described as “friendly and very knowledgeable ”, with one testimonial adding: “They are proactive and creative in solving issues - and sensitive to challenging situations. ”
The Insolvency and Corporate Recovery section noted Thursfields as having “a particular specialism in contentious insolvency, including winding up petitions ”.
For its Commercial Property services, Thursfields was praised for its “sector-focused approach ”, and its “team of dedicated specialists with wide-ranging commercial property expertise ”.
The team is headed by Tony Gibb who was described as a “prolific advisor ”, and one testimonial said: “We have found every member of the team at Thursfields to be responsive, practical and personable. ”
