Shareholders at law firm Thursfields have agreed a deal to sell the business to Knights, the regional legal services business.

Knights currently has 23 offices across the country and employs over 1300 colleagues.  This will be 26 offices following completion of this acquisition with more than 100 more colleagues joining the Knights business.

Michelle O’Hara (pictured) from Thursfields said: “Thursfields has changed immeasurably in the nearly 20 years I have worked here – it’s been quite a journey from a high street to a quality regional practice – and this is an exciting next step in the story of the business.

“In an ever-changing legal sector, Thursfields has now reached the stage where a greater depth and breadth of expertise in legal services and business operation is needed to service our fast-growing client base.

“Knights is the perfect business to take Thursfields, our people and our clients into the future.  We have a shared commitment to excellent customer services for regional clients and a strong ambition to grow our business.”

Knights’ CEO David Beech said: “Thursfields is based in great locations where it is very well regarded, and does a mix of quality commercial and private client work for regional and national clients.

“It is a great firm with the opportunity, as a part of our business, to unlock more potential for clients and colleagues alike.”

Both firms operate with a non-traditional law firm structure and share a passion for collaborative culture and delivering a premium service to regional businesses and private clients.

Michelle added: “With Knights, we can accelerate the modernisation of our approach to delivering for our clients through tech innovation and greater collaboration. It also gives more career opportunities for our lawyers who want to live and work locally but deliver premium legal services to local, national and international clients”.

All client-facing shareholders will be joining Knights on completion.

Knights will continue to operate from offices in Worcester, Kidderminster and Solihull, with its Birmingham employees joining the Knights team in their Birmingham office at Two Chamberlain Square.
