Future Faces, the young professionals division of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, have announced the third judging panel for the Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards 2024.

The third panel to be revealed is for the following categories: Legal, Sales, Marketing & Communications, Training & Education.

The judges for this panel are:

  • Pauline Clarke- senior business and communities fundraiser at St Basils
  • Paul Faulkner- co-founder of Element45
  • Ses Mehmi- partner and head of Transactions Tax at Claritas Tax
  • Nicola Turner- chief executive officer at United By 2022 Charity

Speaking about judging the shortlisted applicants for these categories, Pauline Clarke said: “The Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year awards is the highlight of the Future Faces calendar. I am honoured to be asked to be part of the judging panel for this year’s shortlisted candidates.

“It’s no mean feat, but I am looking forward to meeting this talented pool of young professionals, hearing about their outstanding achievements, both professionally and personally and being part of the process that ultimately sees someone going on to win in their category. The very best of luck to everyone taking part this year!”

Paul Faulkner said: "It has been wonderful to see Future Faces develop and flourish as a networking group of young professionals in the region over the past decade.  There is so much outstanding young talent here, and these awards are a great way of shining a spotlight on that. I'm sure the process will be tough but I am very much looking forward to judging this year. Get entering and good luck to everybody!"

Ses Mehmi said: “It is somewhat daunting when you start as a young professional, especially with the amount of information readily available via the plethora of media/social platforms telling you what you “should” and “should not” be doing. This is why in my role as a partner at Claritas, I have always shown strong support for our younger professionals- after all, they are key to our future.

“During my career, there has been a handful of stand-out individuals who have helped me both professionally and personally. This has empowered me to attain my full potential and become the best version of myself. It is now time to give back and support the next generation in any way I can.”

Nicola Turner said: “Greater Birmingham is on the cusp of a golden decade and there has never been a better time to be a young professional here. I can't wait to meet the future faces who will be the ones to watch!”

The interviews for this year’s awards will be taking place at the Library of Birmingham on Monday, 2 September.

The Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards 2024 will take place at the ICC Birmingham on Friday, 18 October. For more information on the awards, visit the GBCC events website.
