Future Faces, the young professionals division of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, have announced the judging panels for the Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards 2024.

The first panel to be revealed is for the following categories: Environmental, Social & Governance, Creative Arts & Culture, People & Wellbeing and Not for Profit.

The judges for this panel are:

  • Ad Davies- head of Performance and Culture at Gymshark
  • Tony Elvin- general manager of Touchwood Solihull
  • Rebecca Mander- Rebecca Mander, executive coach and founder of GuruYou
  • Zaylie-Dawn Wilson- head of Creative Partnerships at Birmingham Hippodrome and winner of the Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Award 2023

Speaking about being on this panel, Ad Davies said: “I am taking part in the judging process because I am incredibly excited to continue to learn from our local young professionals. I have attended and have spoken at a number of Future Faces events, each time I walk away inspired by the conversations I have. It feels right to be part of recognising and celebrating these individuals.”

Tony Elvin said: “Judging at the Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year awards is a huge privilege. Throughout my own career I have received fantastic support from those who saw potential in me, I am hugely grateful to have the opportunity to help pay that faith back in some way by supporting the next generation of young professionals on their journey.

"I have had the pleasure of meeting some truly awe-inspiring young people through this process, and I’m sure this year will be no different. I can’t wait to get started, alongside my fellow judges.”

Rebecca Mander said: “I am so delighted to have been invited to judge the BYPY Awards. Our city is full of incredibly skilled professionals but often this emerging talent can be overlooked in favour perhaps of more seasoned individuals.

“Birmingham is blessed with a bright future thanks to the young people I see in our organisations and I cannot wait to meet nominees and be inspired by their applications and our discussions. It is wonderful that Future Faces are bringing everyone together to celebrate the contributions our young people are making on their organisations and communities.”

Zaylie-Dawn Wilson said: “It’s great to be part of the judging panel this year after winning last year. I’m excited to see the exceptional talent that this year’s award brings, and to be part of supporting the awards in a small way.”

The interviews for this year’s awards will be taking place at the Library of Birmingham on Monday, 2 September.

The Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards 2024 will take place at the ICC Birmingham on Friday, 18 October. For more information on the awards, visit the GBCC events website.
