East Staffordshire Borough Council and Sonic Boom Music CIC have announced the main stage line-up for the first Sonic Boom Music Festival, coming to Burton upon Trent on Saturday, 14 September 2024.

The independent festival follows sell-out successes at the Burton Music Collective’s celebration of live music in November 2023 and is supported using public funding by Arts Council England, along with funding from East Staffordshire Borough Council.

Sonic Boom Music Festival features a free to attend ‘Sonic Boom’ main stage event in Burton Market Place, hosted by BBC Radio 6 presenter Chris Hawkins, followed by an ‘Aftershock’ series of live music events across the town.

The festival’s main stage features an exciting line-up of national touring artists currently playing to crowds at sold out shows and festivals across the country including The K's - Nubiyan Twist - DECO - Divorce - GIRLBAND! - Eighty Eight Miles - The Public Eye

The major event is set to continue the rejuvenation of Burton upon Trent’s new music scene, from its history of The 76 Club to today’s exciting generation of home grown, nationally recognised new music artists.

Applications are now open with micro grants available for local venues, artists and promoters to be involved in the evening ‘Aftershock’ events across the town.

“I’m also looking forward to seeing all the local venues, artists and bands getting involved in the Aftershock events, making this a real celebration of live music in the Town”
