The Solihull Food Festival, the region’s biggest celebration of food, returns this weekend.

Taking place between Friday 27 and Sunday 29 September, the landmark family festival will feature over 80 food and drink traders in Mell Square, Mill Lane and Solihull High Street.

Organised by Solihull BID and supported by RR Events, this year’s free event once again includes the Rum & Reggae stage in Mell Square, featuring free live music performances.

Plus, there’s the High Street ‘Talking Food Stage’, taster tent, much-loved restaurant voucher booklet and entertainment across the town centre.

On Saturday 28 September, Italian maestro Aldo Zilli and ‘Yummy Brummie’ Glynn Purnell will impart their cooking wisdom to the crowds on the High Street.

For all those Swifties, there’s also two Taylor Swift tribute acts, one on Saturday 28 and another on Sunday 29.

If you’re more of a reggae fan, the Mell Square stage is the place to be with free performances across the weekend, kicking off with ‘Last Orders’ on Friday at 5pm – a good old-fashioned knees-up!

Melanie Palmer, chief executive of Solihull BID, said: “This year’s Food Festival is a huge celebration of food, fun, entertainment and laughter.

“Solihull leads the way in offering a safe, colourful environment for everyone to enjoy. We can’t wait to see the town centre full of families having a great time!”

Visiting families will be wowed throughout the weekend with a free kids disco, free face painting and air brush tattoos, free vintage bus tours courtesy of Transport Museum Wythall, Wonka & Oompa performances, fairground rides and a giant Ferris wheel!

The Solihull Food Festival is one of the West Midlands’ most anticipated events of the year and will give a big boost to the BID’s town centre businesses with thousands of extra people visiting Solihull over the three days.
