Social housing provider secures £4.8m grant for warmer homes
A social housing provider has been awarded provisional funding of over £4.8 million to enhance energy efficiency in homes.
Trent & Dove, which manages more than 6,000 affordable homes across East Staffordshire, South Derbyshire and North West Leicestershire, has secured the funding through a Government grant aimed at making homes warmer and more energy-efficient across England.
The funding is part of the Warm Homes Plan, which recently allocated £1.8 billion to housing associations and local authorities across the UK.
The Government expects that support from the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund will help households save hundreds of pounds annually.
The initiative focuses on low-income households and social housing tenants, with thousands of families set to benefit from energy performance improvements and cleaner heating solutions such as insulation, solar panels, and heat pumps.
Kevin Donohoe, head of asset strategy, planning and delivery at Trent & Dove, said: “We are thrilled to have been provisionally awarded £4.878 million through the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund.
"Investing in energy-efficient homes is a crucial step in reducing household costs and enhancing well-being in our communities.
“This funding will enable Trent & Dove to deliver essential upgrades, creating warmer, more sustainable homes for local families and the wider community.”
Trent & Dove is among 144 projects across the UK set to receive funding, with work scheduled between 2025 and 2028.
