Funding round seven will open on 25 September 2023.

Businesses from all sectors* are eligible for consideration, except for charities. those of a political or religious persuasion, activities involving pornography or clairvoyance, or any business activity that is illegal or deemed unsuitable for public support by Birmingham City Council.

Raj Kandola (pictured), director of external affairs at Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, said: “From soaring energy costs, heightened inflationary pressure and debts accrued from the pandemic, it's clear a number of SMEs across the region have faced a tough time in the last couple of years - the West Midlands SME Grant programme will hopefully provide some much-needed respite.

“The programme is open to start ups and existing SMEs and can help businesses attract inward investment, support capex investment and digitisation.

“At the GBCC we would encourage all small to medium sized businesses to look to apply for the scheme if they feel are eligible.”
