Richardson invests in Australasia’s oldest and largest private equity firm
The Richardson family office has invested alongside Pacific Equity Partners (PEP), Australasia’s oldest and largest private equity firm.
Founded in 1998, PEP has since made more than 200 investments and engaged in close to $50 billion (Aus) of transactions, including both acquisitions and exits.
Over this period it has delivered a 28 per cemt average annual Net IRR (internal rate of return).
PEP works alongside some of the world’s largest and most experienced investment institutions and sovereign wealth funds, and recently won the 2024 ‘Firm of the Year’ award from the Australian Investment Council.
The investment with PEP follows a long-held desire to trade and invest in, and with, the Indo-Pacific region, by the Black Country-headquartered Richardson family office, as part of their wider strategy as an international investment group.
These efforts began over a decade ago, across a range of sectors into businesses in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and on the Pacific coast of Canada.
Individual company investments include the artisan bakery chain Baker & Cook, and, more recently, in 2023, into Permaconn, the Sydney-based leader in Wireless Security Technology.
