Residents urged to share views on future of building development in Lichfield
Lichfield District Council is calling on the local community to help shape the vision for the district up to 2043 by taking part in a short survey.
The council is aiming to gather insights from at least 10,000 residents, ensuring as many voices as possible are heard to help in designing a built future that reflects local priorities, values, and aspirations.
Councillor Alex Farrell, Cabinet Member for Housing and Local Plan, said: “Your views are vital. To achieve a balance between development needs and preserving the essence of Lichfield District, we need your insights.
“We urge all residents to engage with us – we’re listening, and your ideas will guide the path forward.”
Through this new Local Plan, the council wants to ensure new homes, schools, roads, and services align with what matters most to the community.
Residents are being asked to answer five key questions, which will directly influence the council’s planning approach.
They are:
- Where should we build new homes?
- Where should new employment opportunities be located?
- What infrastructure improvements do you believe are essential to support growth?
- What features or areas would you most like to see protected?
- How do you envision Lichfield District looking by 2043?
