Refurbished Birmingham aparthotel set to launch
A redeveloped aparthotel in Birmingham city centre is now taking bookings.
Switch Hospitality Management Ltd has announced that its latest project, Aparthotel Birmingham Snowhill, is taking bookings from this month.
The 92,000 sq ft site, formerly known as the Royal Angus Hotel, is located at the heart of Birmingham’s city centre business district, and was acquired by SevenCapital in August 2020.
As asset managers, Switch Hospitality Management has overseen the hotel’s redevelopment into a luxury serviced Aparthotel, which will also include an on-site NISA convenience store.
Ranging in size from 22m2 – 56m2, a choice of ten accommodation types offers design features suited to every need, from pet-friendly apartments, to rooms with private terraces and interconnecting suites that can host up to eight people.
All rooms feature a fully-equipped kitchen with fridge-freezer, washer-dryer and combi-microwave oven as standard, and guests will benefit from the latest technology, including self-check in portals and dedicated Wi-Fi hotspots in each apartment.
With the flexibility to book both long and short stays as needed, Aparthotel Birmingham has been designed to meet demands of both corporate and leisure guests, combining the flexibility of a rented apartment with the services and amenities offered by a traditional hotel.
In addition, the ground floor named The Hub will feature a 12-seat boardroom alongside modern co-working and meeting spaces.
Benefitting from a prime city-centre location, Aparthotel Birmingham is just round the corner from St Chad’s tram stop and Birmingham Snow Hill station, with direct access to Stratford-Upon-Avon, Worcester and London Marylebone via the Chiltern Line. Overlooking St Chad’s Queensway, the site is easily accessible from the A38 and has a dedicated link bridge to the Royal Angus car park with 24/7 security.
John Angus, managing director at Switch Hospitality, said: “Since the pre-planning stages of Royal Angus’ redevelopment, we identified an immediate need for high-quality, modern accommodation that could cater to both corporate and leisure visitors, particularly as the region continues to be the focus of increased tourist attention and inward investment.
“With this in mind, we’re very much looking forward to opening and continuing to manage Aparthotel Birmingham Snowhill, which will offer a luxury hotel experience with the space and flexibility of a self-catered apartment. Whether guests choose to stay for one night or a month, they can expect to enjoy a premium level of service, with all the comforts of home.”
“We’re pleased to have Switch Hospitality Management on board to manage its operations, having established a successful working partnership with them through our Park Regis Hotel and St Martin’s Place residential developments, where Switch have been exemplary in providing a first-class service to customers and residents.”
