AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group (AIM) has committed to fairer hiring practices, as well as providing the foundation for stronger economic growth and building a more inclusive and prosperous society, by signing the Social Recruitment Covenant led by PeoplePlus.

Social recruitment aims to tackle unemployment by helping those furthest from the workforce to enter sustainable jobs. This strengthens the economy by bringing in a wider range of talent and skills.

By signing the covenant, AIM has pledged its commitment to increasing the role of social value across the awarding organisation’s recruitment and employment practices and is helping to drive a step change in the way it recruits, retains and develops staff who have been disadvantaged in the labour market.

AIM Group CEO, Kevern Kerswell (pictured), said, “We believe the economy can be stronger and more dynamic if society reduces the barriers to work faced by people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

“By signing the covenant, we acknowledge that understanding and supporting social value in recruitment and employment can increase social mobility, strengthen our workplaces and build companies which better reflect the communities in which they operate.

“AIM recognises the important contribution inclusive recruitment, training and employment practices can have for individuals and organisations alike and we commit to reducing social inequality by adopting these practices”.
