Shazia Ejaz (pictured), director of campaigns at the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, will join a panel of speakers at the launch of this year's Birmingham Economic Review.

The Birmingham Economic Review is a yearly economic snapshot of the city and region, analysing capabilities, innovation, infrastructure, and more.

The Review will be launched on the 19th of November from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Exchange in Centenary Square.

It is a partnership between the University of Birmingham’s City-Region Economic Development Institute (City-REDI) and the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC).

The review provides an opportunity to bring quality insights from academia, leading businesses, and local government together, to share insights on the local economy and how we can drive local economic growth.

This launch event will present the findings of this year's report and discuss the findings with an expert panel of leaders from business, policy and academia.

Shazia is a communications and campaigns professional. Her experience in government comms as well as a range of business areas and political campaigns plays right into the comms and campaign work she informs as the REC’s Director of Campaigns.

Shazia is keen to move the needle on key campaigns for REC members using research and other content to capture the attention of the media, government and other stakeholders.

Emily Stubbs, GBCC head of policy said: “We very much look forward to Shazia joining this panel discussion and sharing her insights on some of the key challenges impacting employers nationally, the anticipated impact of recent and forthcoming employment legislation, and opportunities to drive economic growth and boost jobs.

“This year's Economic Review will reflect on how we can enable inclusive growth and enhance the attractiveness of the city to visitors and investors, as means to unlock the full potential of Greater Birmingham businesses.”
