Big Bear Records are set to release "Things I Used to Do", their long-awaited CD album release by American blues legend Chick Willis.

The release will happen at Henry's Blueshouse at Velvet Music Rooms on Tuesday, 10 January at 7.00pm.

Chick Willis, born in Cabaniss, Georgia, in 1934, is known throughout the blues world as The Stoop Down Man thanks to his 1950s hit single of that name.

The album was recorded at the end of his 1977 UK/European tour, after six weeks on the road with his British band that featured Tony Ashton who himself had a huge hit single with "Resurrection Shuffle" (Ashton, Gardner and Dyke).

The CD, "Things I Used to Do", will be available world-wide as will the online release, available on all digital platforms.

Top Henry's Blueshouse attraction, The Nitecrawlers, who include Chick Willis material in their repertoire, will be playing two sets and admission will be free.

Henry's Blueshouse, Birmingham's Home of The Blues, opens every Tuesday at Velvet Music Rooms on Broad Street, at the heart of Birmingham's entertainment centre.

Big Bear Records, Birmingham-based since 1968, is the UK's longest established independent record company.
