Primary school retains ‘Good’ standard
Erdington Hall Primary School in Birmingham has been graded ‘Good’ once again by Ofsted in its latest interim inspection. The school is one of nine schools which are part of the Summit Learning Trust.
The school, which was inspected last month, was praised by the Ofsted inspectors. They said that Erdington is “a happy place to learn” and “ambitious for all pupils”.
They also praised the school, saying that Erdington Hall has “high expectations of pupils” who “work hard and achieve well”.
Jenni Downes, principal at Erdington Hall Primary School, said: “It’s an absolute privilege to be graded as a ‘Good’ school in all areas once again.
“At Erdington Hall Primary School, we encourage learning experiences that raise the aspirations of our children.
“Our curriculum broadens the values and opportunities for every child as they grow and develop and I am delighted that the Ofsted inspectors saw our ambition and care for our learners.”
Extra-curricular opportunities at Erdington Hall include sports, arts and further academic support.
Staff members believe that enrichment raises academic standards, equipping children with key life skills for an ever-changing world.
Ofsted inspectors praised the school for its extracurricular activities, saying “pupils enjoy a wide range of activities that help to develop their talents and interests. They attend clubs including gardening, drama, basketball and debating club. The school organises trips to different places of worship, museums, gardens and the beach.”
Learners are encouraged to participate in before and after-school clubs, which offer a range of activities designed to underpin self-confidence and both academic and social achievement.
Ofsted also praised the school’s ambition for pupils with SEND, saying that Erdington understands what pupils with SEND need, helping them progress through the curriculum with high ambitions for them.
