Primary school announces new sensory room thanks to SH Projects
Dorridge Primary School has been the fortunate recipient of an initiative by SH Projects, a company renowned for its diverse range of projects, spanning from design packs to full-scale refurbishments of offices, bars, and restaurants.
SH Projects has transformed an old storage room in the school's library into a serene and nurturing space for neurodiverse children while also creating an additional office to support the school's management and SENCO team.
Sam Harper, the founder of SH Projects, shared the motivation behind this inspiring project: "We feel very passionate about supporting our local community and feel privileged to be able to make a difference. We particularly feel that our future generations have entered a world of fast-paced technology with high stress and pressure to engage continuously through multiple media platforms. Therefore, it is little wonder we are seeing an increasing demand in our schools to cater for neurodiversity. We wanted to support a local Primary school in offering to create a safe, calming, peaceful space for children to take some time out and to escape these pressures."
Led by their Design team, spearheaded by Brad Wishart, SH Projects demonstrated their expertise in creating spaces conducive to neurodiversity.
The school community say they deeply appreciated the impact of SH Projects' work at Dorridge Primary School. A representative from the school expressed their gratitude, stating: "We can't thank SH Projects enough for the work they have done for us at Dorridge Primary School. From start to finish, they have been professional, creative, and we feel that they truly listened to the school's needs. They have created a beautiful, safe space for our children that we thought would be impossible to achieve, and it is already making a huge difference to the provision we offer to our children. Staff, parents, and children alike are so appreciative of what they have done."
SH Projects, founded by Sam Harper four years ago, say they have consistently strived for excellence and community engagement. With a passion for construction nurtured through 15 years of industry experience, Harper's vision was not only to deliver quality and exceptional customer service but also to give back to society and invest in the development of individuals.
Sustainability is at the core of SH Projects' values. They say they actively seek to support local communities, promote the growth and skill development of young people, and create a sustainable workforce. SH Projects aims to leave a lasting positive legacy through initiatives such as offering apprenticeships, keeping teams local, and providing work experience opportunities in partnership with Solihull Academy.
Looking to the future, SH Projects say they are eagerly taking on various projects that further exemplify their commitment to transforming spaces and investing in communities. One notable endeavour is the refurbishment works for Solihull College at the Stratford Campus. This comprehensive project will include refurbishing office spaces across multiple buildings, creating new teaching areas, upgrading bathroom areas, and general refurbishment works.
