Powerlifting champion headlines Chamber’s countdown to International Women’s Day
The Asian Business Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) is kicking off the celebrations for International Women’s Day with a special event designed to inspire and empower.
The event, aligned with this year’s theme of ‘Accelerate Action', will take place on Wednesday, 12 February, at Birmingham Library, starting at 12pm.
World champion powerlifter, trailblazer, and BBC One Gladiators star ‘Athena,’ Karenjeet Kaur Bains, will deliver a keynote address.
She will share her journey of resilience, breaking barriers, and empowering others to achieve their ambitions.
ABCC president Omar Rashid will host the event, which will also feature a Q&A session with Karenjeet.
This special event is supported by Catapult Connected Places.
Speaking about the event, Omar Rashid said: “Each year IWD gets more attraction and this year, by starting our events earlier we hope the attraction is bigger and for a more sustained period.
“I am looking forward to hosting the ABCC IWD event and welcome a change in format which will no doubt bring more value and impact.”
