Popular comedy night returns to The Hub

The popular Alter Comedy Club is back at The Hub at St Mary’s for a festive edition - with four more top acts.

The show takes place at the Lichfield venue on 11 December.

MC for the evening, Aaron Twitchen, is a stand-up comedian, actor and a trained circus performer.

 Aaron is a regular on the circuit working for various independent promoters such as Hilary Bites, Eminent Banter, Ten Feet Tall, Funhouse, House of Stand Up, FAF and Comedy Cow.

He also does occasional work for Glee and Manfords.

His ongoing solo show, ‘Can’t Stop a Rainbow’ made its mark at the Edinburgh Fringe (2019), with his own brand of intelligent, bubbly and frank stand-up and this year he has been touring as part of the (Back) On The Road Comedy Club.

As seen on BBC's Mock The Week, headliner, Mark Simmons is “the UK’s pre-eminent pun merchant”, according to the Evening Standard.

His debut tour, Quip Off the Mark includes sell-outs at the Leicester Square Theatre, Lowry Quays Theatre, Leeds City Varieties, Bristol Tobacco Factory Theatre and The Stand Newcastle.

Originally based in Toronto, Michelle Shaughnessy (pictured) fast made a name for herself across North America. 

She’s had numerous appearances on television and her debut album, ‘You Know What You Did’ hit number one on the iTunes comedy charts.

She was a finalist in Canada’s ‘Top Comic’ competition and is also an accomplished writer and actor with credits that span commercial, variety, scripted and unscripted television with her acting work featuring on Hulu, Amazon Prime and Netflix.

Newly based in London Michelle is becoming a favourite with fans all over the UK. She appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2022 with her show ‘Be Your Own Daddy’, which was directed by Adam Hills with The Scotsman calling it a “winning debut”.

Dom Hatton-Woods is a rising star in comedy, excelling both on stage and online and known for creating engaging content for Bumble and Hooch.
