Passengers travelling with West Midlands Railway (WMR) are being reminded to plan ahead of a five-day line closure impacting trains to and from Birmingham city centre.

A section of the Snow Hill line between Langley Green and Stourbridge Junction will be closed to trains while Network Rail carries out essential engineering works.

During the works, which will take place from Sunday 27 October to Thursday 31 October inclusive, no services will call at Cradley Heath or Rowley Regis stations. A very limited train service will run between Birmingham Snow Hill and Smethwick Galton Bridge.

Rail replacement buses will be in operation to connect passengers at Stourbridge, Hagley, Blakedown and Kidderminster to Birmingham city centre during the closure. Two buses per hour will run on the Sunday, with four buses per hour from Monday to Thursday.

Jonny Wiseman, customer experience director at West Midlands Railway, said: “I’m grateful for our passengers’ patience while Network Rail carries out essential engineering works on the Snow Hill line for five days, beginning this Sunday.

“I urge passengers to check their journey ahead of time. Up-to-date information is available via journey planners, our website and social media channels.”

More information on the closure and engineering works is available here.
