Ovarian cancer support charity announce new midlands events
The midlands team of Ovacome, an ovarian cancer support charity have announced two new face-to-face events in the Midlands during the coming months.
Jo Stanford, midlands hub coordinator said: “We'd love to invite all members of Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce to join us for the Midlands Teal Walk and Picnic. Why not get a team together to help fundraise to support our services? Or, just come along for a cake and to meet our team in the lovely grounds of Coombe Abbey.”
The midlands Teal Walk and Picnic was a big hit last year, and Ovacome are excited for this year's event, which will also feature performances by award winning ladies acappella show chorus The Belles of Three Spires.
The whole group will walk together on the Redwood Grove and Spinney trail, which at 1.5 miles meanders through landscaped formal gardens before looping around the top pool.
At this point walkers will have the option relax back at the picnic, or to continue on the Heron's Way route which is an additional two miles, through historic woodland, and back along the perimeter of the stunning 80-acre lake.
The event will start at Coombe Abbey, Brinklow Road, Coventry, CV3 2AB on Sunday, 17 September from 12pm to 3pm. Click here to sign up.
In addition, the charity will be hosting their first midlands health and wellbeing day since pre-pandemic days. These free events are aimed at anyone affected by ovarian cancer, with a full day programme of talks and workshops.
The event will be at The Village Hotel Dudley, Castlegate Drive, Dudley, DY1 4TB on Saturday, 25 November from 10am to 4pm.
The workshops will include a diet and nutrition session led by a Macmillan dietician, a look good feel better workshop and gentle exercise and relaxation.
