New winter pergola opens in Birmingham, with launch party tomorrow

A huge new winter pergola has landed in Birmingham this October, complete with a roaring fire, twinkling fairy lights and faux fur throws, a mouth-watering menu and its very own bar. 

The Pergola at the Botanist Gas Street Basin is now open, and promises to bring the festive spirit to Birmingham’s canalside, boasting a huge wooden heated structure with a roof and windows, allowing guests to soak up the view of the canal.

To showcase the space, The Botanist are hosting a launch party tomorrow, Friday 25 October, allowing guests to enjoy the space in all its glory.

Famed for its live music, house-cooked food and laid-back warm and welcoming atmosphere, The Botanist’s new snug retreat promises to keep the spirit of party season alive seven days a week throughout the winter. 

Introducing a brand-new seasonal drinking, dining and partying destination to the city, the outdoor terrace on Bridge Street is set become an urban utopia of firepits and good times alongside winter cocktails, hot chocolate, mulled wine and warming food, just in time for the chilly weather. 

Inside the new lodge guests can expect to dine on good food from the venue’s menu including baked camembert, Korean fried chicken, stacked burgers and hanging kebabs as well as classics like fish and chips, ribeye steak and chicken katsu curry. 

Rheanna Taylor, sales and events manager at The Botanist, said: "I was delighted to host our first Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce breakfast event back in August, so much so that I would like to extend a warm invite to all GBCC members for our launch party event on Friday 25 October.

“We will be showcasing our new winter dining and event space, The Pergola at The Botanist Gas Street Basin for all to enjoy! The Pergola has been my own little project over the past few months, and I'm so excited to share it with you! Please do come along and relish in our incredible live acts and tasty tipples."

The Botanist Gas Street Basin and The Pergola are open Monday to Friday from 11am and Saturday and Sunday from 10am until late throughout the winter.
