The head of Goldman Sachs office in Birmingham will be joining the panel discussion at the upcoming Birmingham Economic Review launch, organised by the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC).

Gurjit Jagpal (pictured), managing director, global head of Investment Banking Engineering and Head of Goldman Sach Birmingham will join a panel to share his perspective as someone who grew up in the city and gone on to lead the Goldman Sachs office in the city.

Happening on Tuesday, 19 November from 9 to 11 am at the Exchange, the Birmingham Economic Review is a yearly economic snapshot of the city and region, analysing capabilities, innovation, infrastructure, and more.

It is a partnership between the University of Birmingham’s City-Region Economic Development Institute (City-REDI) and GBCC.

The review provides an opportunity to bring quality insights from academia, leading businesses, and local government together, to share insights on the local economy and how we can drive local economic growth.

This launch event will present the findings of this year's report and discuss the findings with an expert panel of leaders from business, policy and academia.

Emily Stubbs, Head of Policy at the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, has said: “We very much look forward to Gurjit joining this panel discussion and sharing his insights on the local economy with our audience of leaders and decision makers from across the local business community.

“This year's Economic Review will reflect on how we can drive inclusive growth and enhance the attractiveness of the city to visitors and investors, as means to unlock the full potential of Greater Birmingham businesses.”
