East Staffordshire Borough Council has announced a new music festival following the sell-out success of the Burton Music Collective month of live music gigs in November 2023.

Sonic Boom Festival, organised by Sonic Boom CIC, a group of likeminded music fans from Burton upon Trent and East Staffordshire Borough Council, will feature an exciting line up of local, regional and national artists on Saturday 14 September.

This new music festival is expected to continue the rejuvenation of Burton upon Trent’s rich history of live music, which has included, the 76 Club to The Refinery, The Telescopes, The Leisure Society and Riding The Low.

In additional to the Sonic Boom Festival, residents and visitors can also enjoy a range of fringe gigs at venues across the town, featuring a whole host of local bands and artists.

The first step of this new initiative will see a multi-venue celebration of live gigs taking place in a host of locations across the town, kicked off with Riding The Low playing at The Brewhouse on Friday, 3 November.

Full festival details, along with the line-up will be announced on Wednesday, 10 July. In the meantime, local artists or bands can apply to get involved in the fringe gigs, by visiting the Sonic Boom website.
