New committee appointed for Cannock Chase Chamber
A new executive committee was appointed at the annual general meeting (AGM) of the Cannock Chase Chamber of Commerce, writes Feron Jayawardene.
The AGM was held yesterday at the Aquarius Ballroom with the attendance of members and guests.
David Mitchell, marketing and communication consultant from The Marketing People Digital, was appointed as the new president of the division, while Chris Wheeler, cost management consultant of Auditel, was appointed as the new vice president.

Richard Brooks, head of Cannock Chase and Burton & District Chambers of Commerce, welcomed the guests and members while Lilian Elekan, head of membership of the GBCC gave an overview of the wider chamber.
Richard Brooks said: “We have made an excellent start to the year so far, putting in place the correct chamber support team, liaising with existing contacts and making new connections with other key businesses, organisations, and individuals locally.
“It will be an exciting time for membership and our executive committee, as we look to re-develop the Cannock Chase Chamber of Commerce, re-establish our presence, re-define our local business identity and refresh the Chase outlook on business for all.
“Our new committee will compromise of key individuals and businesses in the Cannock Chase region, representing important areas in line with our goals and committee initiatives going forward throughout the next year, and beyond.
Outgoing president Gill Durkin said: “I am extremely proud of the Cannock Chase region not only as President but as a resident and my place of work at Performance Through People.
“It has certainly been a busy and eventful year for us all. As we braved the elements of winter weather, have had the challenge of huge fuel bills and reported skill shortages.
“Despite the challenges of Covid19 and government change I have seen the resilience and determination from our members and wish everyone a prosperous future.
“I have been fortunate to visit many of our local businesses, where I have been filled with admiration of the excellent work that is being done to provide the best opportunities to grow and aspire. ”
Incoming president David Mitchell said: “I 'm honoured to be asked to be Chase Chamber President. As a growing Chamber, I wish to ensure that the supporting team and I build on the hard work and positive impact that recent Chase Chamber presidents have had.
“I love Staffordshire and the Chase region. I am proud to be associated with the diverse number of hardworking, creative-thinking, and skilled businesses in the Chase area.
“From retail, IT, professional, manufacturing and services, we also have many communities that collectively make up this friendly and accommodating region, individually making a collective business entity.
“The Chamber can assist our region 's businesses to thrive, not just survive. The more companies that take advantage of that assistance, the better for them and the rest of our community.
