Neurodiversity training to foster inclusive and productive workplaces

Beacon Mental Health Training, a leading provider of workplace mental health and wellbeing training, has expanded its offerings to include neurodiversity training to meet the growing needs of businesses.

As mental health continues to be a central concern for organisations of all sizes, this new addition reinforces Lichfield-based Beacon’s commitment to fostering inclusive, understanding and supportive work environments where all employees can thrive.

Since launching in 2016 Beacon Mental Health Training, under the leadership of owner and managing director Amanda Jackson (pictured), has worked with small to medium sized enterprises and large national companies to raise awareness, reduce stigma and improve mental health in the workplace.

The introduction of the CPD-accredited Thrive Neurodiversity in the Workplace training responds to a growing need in the business community to better support neurodivergent employees, whose unique perspectives often bring immense value to organisations when provided with the right environments to succeed.

“With mental health concerns rising across sectors, it is crucial to look beyond traditional support structures and consider underlying factors that may contribute to poor mental health,” said Amanda.

“When neurodiversity is not understood or accounted for in workplace design, people can experience increased stress, burnout, and ultimately, poor mental health. Our new neurodiversity training helps organisations foster workplaces where neurodivergent employees feel understood, valued and empowered to perform at their best.”

Current estimates indicate that approximately 10 per cent of the UK population is dyslexic, 5 per cent have dyspraxia and between 1-4 per cent of adults live with ADHD, among other neurodiverse conditions.

Without a deeper understanding and adjustments in workplace practices, these individuals can face burnout, heightened stress, and a decline in overall mental wellbeing.

Beacon’s Thrive Neurodiversity in the Workplace program offers flexible training options to meet different organizational needs:

  • One-hour awareness webinars that provide foundational insights into neurodiversity across an organisation.
  • Half-day champion courses for individuals who wish to advocate for neurodiversity within their teams.
  • Full-day manager courses that equip leaders with practical strategies to create more inclusive and supportive workspaces.

These courses not only enhance workplace environments but also offer invaluable insights for working parents who are navigating potential neurodiversity diagnoses with their children.

“I am thrilled to bring this new offering to our clients,” added Amanda. “Delegates will gain practical knowledge they can use not only in the workplace but in their personal lives, supporting those closest to them as well. Through this training, we are empowering a future where everyone has the opportunity to excel, regardless of neurotype.”

As a long-time advocate for mental health in the workplace, Beacon Mental Health training invites businesses to join the movement towards more inclusive and resilient work cultures. The Thrive Neurodiversity in the Workplace programme is now available for bookings.
