Mental health charity looks to appoint new treasurer

A Birmingham mental health charity is actively seeking a new treasurer, to oversee their financial work.

Birmingham Mind, the Future Faces current charity of the year, is seeking an accountant or person with experience in financial controls, and understanding of charity finance, pensions, and legal requirements to take up this voluntary position.

The position requires the individual to attend, six scheduled board meetings (6pm start time) and five Committee meetings (4pm start time) annually, all of which are held in person, alongside regular monthly meetings with the director of finance.

Ruth Galvin, director of Finance & Digital Services, said: “This is an exciting time for a new Treasurer to join us, as we currently undertake a review of our organisational Values that will guide us through the next few years.

“Your expertise in financial management will be crucial in ensuring our organisation remains sustainable and able to achieve its goals and we look forward to welcoming you to our Board.”

The role aims to diversify the board's skill set, and they particularly welcome applications from people of Asian heritage, young professionals and women, to ensure they meet their charitable aims and values.
