'Mental Elf’ run raises funds for Future Faces chosen charity
The Future Faces arm of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce have announced that they have raised a grand total of £1,117 for their chosen charity, Birmingham Mind, through their ‘Mental Elf’ charity run.
The run took place at Cannon Hill Park, and Future Faces committee members Kasim Choudhry, Freya Dearman, Amy Jacklin, Will Crawford, Jasmine Caine, Faye Jacklin, and Harry Paige took part, as well as Phil Costin.
Birmingham Mind, the Future Faces chosen charity, is a mental health charity that provides support and information to people experiencing mental health issues. The charity specifically focuses on serving the mental health needs of the Birmingham Community.
The event was organised by Birmingham Mind’s fundraising officer, Kerrie Henry-Edge, and the main sponsor for the event was EPLegal.
Danny Booth, director of Business Development at Birmingham Mind, said: “We had seen the success of Mental Elf in other areas of England and Wales and we were excited to bring the concept to Birmingham, as not only an event to raise funds, but the chance to connect with local people and promote the importance of wellbeing, whilst enjoying a physical activity and spending time outside.
“We're glad that the Future Faces Elves had a great time at the event, and we're so grateful for the fantastic fundraising target reached by the team. The money raised goes towards supporting people in Birmingham with their mental health. We simply could not deliver those crucial services without the generosity and enthusiasm of our supporters, so thank you from us to everyone who got involved."
Future Faces patron Gymshark also donated goodie bags for all participants.
Future Faces have also held previous events to raise money for their chosen charity, including a quiz night at The Button Factory and a raffle at the Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year awards 2023.
