Major firms among exhibitors at apprenticeship show
Young people will have the chance to learn about local apprenticeships and work opportunities at the Solihull Apprenticeship Show.
With around 1,900 attendees at the last show, this event provides an opportunity for young people to learn about apprenticeships and inclusive programmes as alternatives to further studies, as well as entry level jobs.
It will take place at North Solihull Sports Centre on Wednesday 29 January 2025 from 3.30pm to 7pm.
Apprenticeships up to degree level will be on display.
Young people with further needs can also learn about Inclusive programmes such as Supported Apprenticeships and Internships.
Visitors will have the chance to speak to employers and training providers from manufacturing, construction, hospitality and financial sectors.
Exhibitors include JLR, Rolls-Royce, HSBC, the NEC Group, Fortem, Severn Trent, Solihull College & University Centre, South & City College Birmingham, Nova Training and Solihull Council.
Current apprentices will be on hand to share their first-hand experience with visitors.
Councillor Michael Gough, portfolio holder for Skills, Employment & Inclusion, said: “We always work to ensure that everyone has an equal chance to live happily and healthily in the borough.
“In addition to apprenticeships, exhibitors were encouraged to share their programmes for young people with additional needs such as Supported Internships.
“Our Employment and Skills Team will be there to offer advice and guidance to young people for everyone to get the most out of it.”
Organised by Solihull Careers Hub which is part of the Council’s Employment and Skills Team, it is free to attend and it is advised to book in advance.
