A fundraiser from Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) Charity is set to take on the 2025 London Marathon this Sunday.

Jake Hayden-Wright (pictured), a property and land manager at QEHB, has been inspired to run the marathon to help fund projects that benefit patients undergoing or recovering from treatment.

Jake said: “I’m really proud to be doing the London Marathon. I think that QEHB Charity should be celebrated and supported for all the good that it does for patients and their families.

“I took on this challenge primarily because I want to set a good example to my two girls and show them that they can do anything that they set their mind to.

“I want them to grow up confident and strong women, not afraid to throw themselves into a challenge if they need or want to. My hope is that by taking on this challenge I set that example.”

Funds raised during the event will help QEHB to gain cutting-edge equipment, life-saving research, renovations to help patients have an easier time in hospital, or activities to help patients’ wellbeing.
