Local artist to give Touchwood visitors a glimpse into Solihull history through live painting project

Touchwood will bring the Solihull community together this month through a live mural painting and street piano project celebrating the town’s history.

From 7 to 9 November, visitors are invited to watch local artist Jenniemyma (pictured) as she brings the story of Solihull to life through a mural painting on an installation on Lower Jubilee Walk, which also includes a street piano.

The installation will incorporate colours sympathetic to the town’s architectural history, featuring community buildings and key moments in time where people have gathered throughout the development of Solihull.

Completing the design is a musical sonnet from William Shakespeare that enwraps the piano in a whimsical and poetic nod to the sonnets around Touchwood. Visitors to Touchwood are encouraged to get involved and play a song on the piano.

The placement of the installation in the heart of the community is symbolic, as Touchwood is a destination where local people meet and share meaningful moments, whether it be over a meal, enjoying entertainment or shopping with friends and family.

Jenniemyma is a Solihull born fine artist and illustrator. She creates intricate hand drawn art and enjoys working on purposeful live art installations that inspire and motivate others.
