Lichfield artist ‘Dives into 2025’ to raise money for hospice

Love2dream owner and Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber member Jackie Roberts has made a splash at the start of 2025 – by swimming 25km during the first five weeks of the year.

Jackie (pictured) chose to ‘Dive into 2025’ by taking on the swimming challenge to raise fund for St Giles Hospice.

She has already raised £350 for the hospice and has received donations from other members of the Chamber.

Jackie said: “Being an artist who sells my designs as prints, Christmas cards and other gifts, the final quarter of the year is really busy for me, and not particularly healthy!

“I decided to do something about that and came up with the idea of ‘Dive into 2025’ to challenge myself and to raise money for St. Giles Hospice who are in desperate need of support”.

The challenge meant Jackie had to swim an average of 5km a week, and completed a total of 25km, which is equivalent to swimming from Lichfield to Spaghetti Junction in Birmingham.

“When you look at it like that, I’m quite proud of myself and it was certainly harder than I expected!” said Jackie.
