Award-winning law firm, Wilkes has announced that Amanda Holden, partner in their Residential Conveyancing team, participated in the challenging Aquasphere Snowman Swim in Snowdonia recently.

Amanda took on the challenge to raise money for Wilkes’ charity of the year, Marie Curie.

The Aquasphere Snowman Swim is an open water swimming event set against the backdrop of Snowdonia National Park. Amanda, along with her daughter’s friend Hana Mian, braved the surprisingly warm waters to raise vital funds for Marie Curie.

Amanda Holden shared her thoughts on the challenge: "I was both excited and nervous about taking on the Aquasphere Snowman Swim. Marie Curie has been there for many of my friends’ families and my colleagues' families too. They do amazing work supporting people with terminal illnesses. This swim was our way of giving back and saying thank you."

Marie Curie brings 75 years of experience and leading research to the care they provide at home, in their hospices, and over the phone. The charity is dedicated to ensuring quality end-of-life care for all, regardless of the illness or location. Their work extends beyond direct care to include campaigning and research aimed at improving end-of-life experiences across the UK.

Wilkes has a strong tradition of community engagement and charitable support. This fundraising effort demonstrates one of Wilkes’ core values of giving back to the community and supporting causes that make a significant impact on people's lives.

After completing the Snowman Swim Amanda shared: “We did it! Beautiful scenery and fabulous weather really made this a very special event. Thank you so much for all of the support and donations.”
