Law firm advises brand agency on investment from BGF
National law firm Freeths has advised the shareholders of BWP Group on its investment from BGF.
Marlow-based BWP is a marketing and brand agency specialising in the elevation of destination assets, including shopping centres, retail outlets, and leisure and entertainment venues.
BWP has been nurturing its partnerships since its inception in 1995, and to date has a portfolio comprising leading destinations such as the Trafford Centre, Eldon Square, Lakeside, Livingston Designer Outlet and IKEA.
Established in 2011, BGF provides venture capital for small and medium-sized businesses throughout the UK and Ireland – it’s mission to address the SME funding gap.
The company works with businesses across a variety of investment stages, sectors, and regions, and its balance sheet currently sits at circa £3 billion.
The investment from BGF will be pivotal in ensuring BWP is able to expand its geographical reach to enrich client relationships across the UK and Europe and explore plans to delve into the US market.
The business will also look to strengthen its capabilities through further targeted acquisitions, which will help solidify its position as the leading agency for high-impact marketing services.
Leading the Freeths team on this deal was partner Dahren Naidoo and managing associate Megan Atack (pictured).
They were supported by partner Laura Tracey, managing associate Alex Angelides, associate Elle Margerison and legal assistant Madelaine Gape.
Megan Atack said: “We are delighted to have advised BWP on this investment from BGF, which will allow the business to explore exciting international opportunities and continue with its growth strategy.
“This deal highlights our strength across private equity capabilities, and we look forward to hopefully working with BWP again.”
