Jumar founder joins Chamber report launch panel
Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce have announced the second guest speaker for the upcoming Q4 Quarterly Business Report launch event, taking place on 7 February, Birmingham City University (9am to 11am).
Wendy Merricks (pictured), founder and CEO of Jumar, will be joining the panel to discuss the theme of growing the entrepreneurial landscape of Greater Birmingham.
As founder and CEO of Jumar, Wendy has spearheaded the company's remarkable 24-year journey.
Jumar works with its financial, insurance and public sector clients to provide a holistic range of IT services including digital transformation, application development, resource augmentation and executive search.
Wendy's vision expanded beyond organisational growth as she actively engaged with local stakeholders, developing valuable collaborations.
In 2023, Jumar secured a pivotal investment from Aliter Capital, reinforcing its position as a key player in the UK's technology resourcing and solutions landscape.
Wendy is also a co-founder and director of CyberNest Labs, a world class AI and cybersecurity training provider, a non-executive director for partnerships at Genesis Sun, a not-for-profit social enterprise providing original and innovative entertaining educational programme events for young black people, and chair of the Association of Professional Staffing Companies West Midlands Forum.
Raj Kandola, director of External Affairs at GBCC, said: “We are delighted that Wendy will be joining us at the Q4 QBR event to share her entrepreneurial success story of not only growing her own business, but collaborating with local stakeholders not-for-profit organisations to assist others in their business growth journeys”.
“We look forward to hearing about how Wendy and her business have embraced the rapidly changing landscape of tech and innovation to ensure expansion and success, which is a challenge faced by businesses of all sizes”.
In addition to Wendy’s presentation, delegates can expect to hear the results for the Q4 QBR survey and a second keynote address by Mark Lupton, area director, Greater Birmingham Business Banking, HSBC UK Bank Plc.
Sponsored by Birmingham City University, this well-established feature in the local business calendar attracts a senior level audience for networking, discussion and intelligence sharing.
The QBR offers an up-to-date snapshot of the performance of the Greater Birmingham business community.
As the flagship economic publication of the GBCC, it is the most comprehensive regular report of its kind in the city-region.
Underpinning the report is data gathered from quarterly surveys completed by businesses from across the Greater Birmingham area.
