Inclusive play area set to be developed at Shobnall Fields

East Staffordshire Borough Council has announced the introduction of new inclusive play equipment at Shobnall Fields (Burton) and Pennycroft Park (Uttoxeter).

The equipment, funded by the COVID Outbreak Management Fund (COMF), will provide a unique and diverse play experience at both parks for the benefit of residents and visitors.

Kompan. the appointed provider begin work on the new play areas later this month. Work starts on August 28 (Pennycroft) and September 3 (Shobnall) to minimise the disruption over the summer and is scheduled to finish late September.

Stephanie Bray, area sales manager for Kompan said “We are absolutely thrilled to be working with ESBC on these two very exciting play developments.

“Across both sites we have designed schemes which consider how every user of all ages & abilities will access and interact with each new play feature and loaded fun into every possible corner of the development!

“We have first-hand knowledge of how important these play spaces are to the communities who use them and can’t wait to see the massive impact such an improvement is going to have! We are sure they will enjoy these new developments for many years and generations to come!”

Cllr Simon Slater, cabinet member for community and regulatory services said “The COMF funding has enabled the introduction of these two new play areas that are a real boost to both Burton and Uttoxeter, both sites provide parents/carers and children of all abilities with a place to play.”
