Solihull Hospital Charity is encouraging its supporters to ‘Run for Solihull’ this summer and sign up to the Solihull 10k or half marathon and raise money for Solihull Hospital and the Community Services.

The Run Solihull event is taking place on Sunday, 10 August and Solihull Hospital Charity has discounted charity places available on both the 10k and half marathon events.

Starting and finishing in Solihull town centre, the course gives participants the opportunity to run around the closed roads of Solihull with a great atmosphere and enthusiastic support from the locals.

Solihull Hospital Charity plays a vital role in enhancing the patient experience at Solihull Hospital and the Community Services, funding various projects, and appeals including the refurbishment of the Children’s Outpatients Department, Pets in Hospital visits and added extras to support cancer patients on their treatment journey.

Last year the charity launched its Solihull Hospital Fundraising Appeal to raise money to fund additional equipment, specialist services and improvements to the hospital environment to make a real difference to patients' lives.

Charlotte Schofield, director of Fundraising at Solihull Hospital Charity said: “We are always grateful to our supporters and fundraisers, they really do help us make a big difference to patients and staff within the hospital and local community. We’re excited to have charity places for Run Solihull this year, and you can fundraise for the ward or department that means something to you.

“Sign up with family, friends or colleagues to take on the 10k or challenge yourself to the half marathon and run for Solihull!”
