Hospice launches ‘Give a Gift’ campaign for festive season
As Birmingham Hospice continues to face a critical funding crisis, hospice teams are calling on local businesses and individuals to support its "Give a Gift" appeal this festive season.
This Christmas, supporters can choose to fund dignity, comfort, or choice for patients living with a terminal diagnosis, helping them spend precious moments with loved ones, whilst many of us are continuing to celebrate Christmas as normal.
Luke Manley, corporate fundraising manager at Birmingham Hospice said: "The support from businesses choosing the gift of dignity, comfort, or choice is needed more than ever this Christmas.
“With each donation, businesses are directly supporting our terminally ill patients and their loved ones through difficult times, providing invaluable hospice services, even as we continue to navigate an unprecedented financial challenge."
There are three different levels of giving a gift to Birmingham Hospice.
- A £100 donation could pay for a specialist bereavement support session to help those who have lost a loved one. At Christmastime especially, grief can be a difficult journey to travel on your own, which is why the hospice’s counsellors are so vital.
- A £500 donation could go towards paying for a full 24 hours of nursing support in the hospice’s Inpatient Units, offering specialist care from their team of medical experts.
- Choosing to support for the full 12 days of Christmas, a £1,200 donation could pay for one specialist bed in our Inpatient Units, with all costs of care included.
As a gift giver, your business will be highlighted in hospice newsletters, on social media and at the hospice sites.
You will receive a thank you pack including a certificate, thank you letter and photo diary to proudly display in your offices – dependent on level of gift.
Luke added: “Costs are rising exponentially, making it harder for us to care for everyone who needs it. Without businesses supporting and choosing a gift of dignity, comfort, or choice, we simply couldn’t continue providing expert palliative and end of life care to local people.”
