University College Birmingham Business School have been announced as headline sponsors of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce’s Sustainable Business Series campaign.

The Sustainable Business Series is the Chamber's flagship campaign on environmental sustainability, supporting businesses in their transition to Net Zero, through the sharing of best practice, guidance and insight on a range of issues associated with achieving Net Zero.

For the first time, in 2024/25 the Sustainable Business Series will span across a whole year from April 2024 to March 2025.

The first event as part of the campaign, Going Green, will be held on 6 June, at Moor Hall Hotel & Spa in Sutton Coldfield.

This event will look at the role of employee empowerment in combating climate change and will delve into the importance for organisations to mobilise their workforce towards sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.

Dr David Paulson (pictured), executive dean at University College Birmingham Business School said: “At University College Birmingham, we are delighted to sponsor for another year the Greater Birmingham Chambers’ Sustainable Business series.

“We see Sustainability as being as fundamental to a student’s Business education as their learning about profit and loss, so that by the time they leave us, Sustainability has become engrained in their thinking.

“In the Business School we are also developing our portfolio of blended online courses that support companies’ net zero commitments, and our colleagues in University College Birmingham’s Department of Sustainable Construction are educating engineers and builders who will lead the transformation of our region’s infrastructure.

“All of us at University College Birmingham are committed to shaping the next generation of Sustainability leaders who will bring change to our region’s businesses and urban areas, and that’s why we’re so proud to support this series.”
