Have your say on international trade in British Chambers survey

The British Chambers of Commerce have launched their 2024 International Trade survey to give local business communities the chance to share their recent experiences of trading overseas.

The survey will inform the newly formed Government of what support businesses need to continue to grow their international profile.

The International Trade Survey is one of British Chambers' most influential thematic surveys with key focus areas being export barriers, Britain's place in the world, global conflicts, and what businesses would advise the new Prime Minister to prioritise immediately.

The anonymous results will be shared directly with UK Government Ministers and Officials and will be considered when significant policy decisions about international trade are being made.

Gemma Dilkes (pictured), policy and projects officer at the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) said: “As the first major British Chambers business survey following the general election, it is vital for businesses to have their voices heard on the important topic of international trade”.

“Our Quarterly Business Report survey shows that there are far more exporters in our membership base than the national average, however, international trade growth has lagged behind the strong progress made in UK sales in recent quarters.

“In light of geopolitical tension and supply chain disruption, businesses are now hoping for a greater degree of certainty in order for them to drive their international ambitions forward with confidence”

GBCC continues to work collaboratively with local and national stakeholders and businesses to tackle these issues.

The Greater Birmingham Global and Transatlantic Chambers of Commerce support businesses with overseas expansion, develop bilateral business relationships and network with likeminded businesses.
