‘Great Birmingham Bark Off’ launched to raise funds for stray dogs
Birmingham Dogs Home is calling on local businesses and the community to take part in the ‘Great Birmingham Bark Off’ to raise awareness and much-needed funds for the stray dogs in their care.
Running throughout September and October, this fun competition offers a unique way for participants to contribute by baking for a cause.
The competition encourages workplaces to host their own ‘Bark Off’ events in October, where colleagues can share cakes, raise funds, and vote for their own Bark Off Champion.
The winners from each workplace will then move on to the grand finale, set to take place at Birmingham Dogs Home on Saturday, 26 October.
Organisers hope that participants will aim to raise £100 from their Bark Off events—enough to cover the cost of a dog’s first week at the shelter.
During the finale, finalists will be invited to showcase their baking talents with a Halloween-themed showstopper.
Sophie Evans, corporate partnerships officer at Birmingham Dogs Home said: “Everyone at Birmingham Dogs Home are really excited to see everyone’s pawsome bakes and I think equally excited to taste the bakes at the Grand Finale.
“We hope the competition will raise some much-needed awareness and funds in a fun and competitive way.”
