Golf day raises funds for Burton charity

YMCA Burton have benefited from funds raised by Else Solicitors following a golf day recently held at Branston Golf & Country Club.

The annual Else Solicitors Charity Golf Day was held in aid of YMCA Burton and over £2,000 was raised from donations taken on the day and in sponsorship, with more funds still to come in.

On the day 72 golfers enjoyed a round of golf followed by a meal and prize giving.

18 teams took part with prizes awarded to:

• First place team: Barton Fields Patio and Landscape Centre captained by Trevor Standley
• Second place team: Box-It North Midlands captained by Sean McDonald
• Third place team: Varlowe Industrial Services captained by Dave Paddock

Chris Else, managing partner at Else Solicitors, said: “It was a great day, seeing businesses, friends and colleagues come together to raise funds for a very worthy cause. 

“The YMCA has their work cut out for them, now more than ever and is under increasing pressure to deliver food parcels and keep up with the demand for the other services they provide.  We are delighted to support them and help them continue their great work locally.”

The golf day is the second Else Solicitors event to take place recently in support of YMCA Burton, with their inaugural cricket tournament taking place last month.
