Talking us through winning the Greater BYPY for the Third Sector award 2023 is Gabriel Imevbore.

What is your name, and what is your role and your place of work?

Hi, I’m Gabriel Imevbore. I’m a trustee for YMCA Heart of England and Sales Director for Z Digital UK.

Were you nominated by someone else for an award, or did you nominate yourself, and why?

I was nominated by the YMCA for the Third Sector award, for my contributions to the charity.

How did you find the application and interview process?

The application process was smooth. The interview process was exciting (for me) I felt comfortable with the process!

How did it feel to win your award?

I was really happy to win my award. Being noticed for your contributions makes you feel confident in yourself and your own abilities. In that particular moment, I would say feeling noticed for my achievements was the main feeling I felt.

What impact did winning your award have on your career?

I believe winning the award has given me more credibility, as the chamber is highly respected. I’m yet to see the full benefits of winning my award at the moment, but I have a strategy in place.

What advice would you give to those applying for the Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards 2024?

Believe in yourself, if the awards lines up with who you are and what you’re trying to achieve, go for it and apply.
