Jay Loha, mobile technology manager at Future Faces Patron Deutsche Bank, is set to embark on a trek through India to raise money for the bank’s chosen charity, Dementia UK.

One in two people will be affected by dementia in their lifetimes. The number of people living with dementia worldwide is currently estimated at over 50 million and will almost triple by 2050.

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nursing charity. Its nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, are specialists in dementia and provide life-changing advice and support to anyone affected by the condition, whenever it is needed.

To raise his £1000 fundraising goal for the charity, Jay (pictured) will be taking part in a trek through Kerala in southern India for a duration of nine days. Deutsche Bank have said they will be matching Jay’s fundraising pound for pound.

Speaking about taking on the trek, Jay said: “The opportunity brings so many positives, I get to trek the tropical landscape of Kerela, Dementia UK will receive 2k in fundraising, I get a digital detox and no doubt many more mental health benefits. It’s also the first time I will trek, travel solo and camp. So, this is truly a challenge for me!”

Fellow Future Faces Patron Gymshark has also shown their support for Jay by providing a gift card voucher for a raffle event Deutsche Bank will be holding as part of Jay’s fundraising efforts.
