Free resource matching workshop announced to boost regional industries
The West Midlands Resource Reuse Network (WMRRN) is set to host a free resource matching workshop, designed to help local businesses reduce costs, improve resource efficiency, and lower their carbon footprint by promoting the reuse and recycling of key industrial materials.
This fully funded initiative by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) will take place on Tuesday, 24 September at the International Conference & Banqueting Centre, Wolverhampton, from 9am to 12pm.
The WMRRN is a regional, facilitated programme dedicated to encouraging the sharing of waste and resources across the West Midlands, with a focus on materials such as sand, wastewater, and metals.
This initiative, delivered in partnership with the Cast Metals Federation, aims to support businesses in reducing waste and identifying new business opportunities, thus contributing to the region’s sustainability goals.
The in-person event is tailored for businesses of all sizes and sectors, with a particular emphasis on those working with sand.
Industries such as cast metal foundries, construction, ceramics, cement, utilities, and sports surfaces like equestrian will benefit most from this workshop.
During the workshop, attendees will engage in interactive sessions to exchange details about waste streams they produce or need as a resource.
The WMRRN team, comprised of industry experts, will facilitate discussions aimed at helping companies discover new ways to reuse waste materials, saving money and reducing environmental impact.
The WMRRN team is encouraging businesses to attend this unique event and take advantage of the free one-to-one support being offered to help categorise waste and find resource-sharing solutions.
